Founded in 2006, Apex General Contracting began as a family-built business led by owner Jim Stringham, with help from his father, also named Jim. From the very beginning, family has been at the heart of the company. In those early years, Apex operated satellite offices in Tennessee and Texas, while Jim’s mother handled paperwork from the family basement.
Jim was born and raised in northern Illinois, where he now continues to live and raise his own family. In 2010, Apex opened its corporate office in South Beloit, Illinois, creating a central home base for operations and customer service. This move helped the company stay more connected to clients while also allowing Jim to spend more time with his wife, Bridget, and their children, Landen and Berkley.
As Apex grew, so did its reputation. In 2010, the company was recognized by both the Inc. 500 and Top 100 Roofing Contractors as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the country.
Continued growth led to another milestone in 2012, when Apex moved into a 5,000-square-foot corporate office with a large in-house training room. This expansion reflects the company’s commitment to quality workmanship, exceptional service, and ongoing team development. By combining skilled professionals with modern technology, Apex strives to bring lasting value to every property it serves.
Today, Apex is proud to be an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau (A+ Rating), a GAF Master Elite Contractor, an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor, and Mule-Hide Certified.
